Library

Saintz Libraries offer warm, safe and creative spaces for our students and teachers. While some come in to quietly read, reflect and study, others come in to collaborate with their peers on various projects, competitions etc.

The school has two libraries, a junior library and a senior library. Both these spaces provide children with access to a wealth of books, both educational and recreational. With a collection that has been built up over almost 60 years, we can safely say we have a book for whatever your interests are!

From vintage tomes to the latest bestsellers, we keep our shelves well stocked for our students and teachers. Junior students visit the junior library to borrow books in the company of their library lesson teachers. Senior students routinely visit the library to borrow books, both for recreational reading and for educational references. Our teachers actively encourage senior students, especially our A-Level students, to seek out reference books for their subjects, guiding them and reinforcing the fact that the Internet is not their only source of information.

In an effort to spark and nurture a love of reading in our children, the librarians collaborate with other departments, especially the English department, and routinely roll out exciting events and activities, like art competitions based on books, World Book Day celebrations, character days, Reading Bingo, etc., to name just a few. In our libraries, students can post book recommendations for their peers, share a quote that struck them from a recent read or play a heated game of scrabble with their friends.

All this in an effort to build a generation of children with a love for the written word!
